All content published on IKF is drawn from authenticated works of traditional Sunni scholarship. The sources we use span the full range of the classical Islamic sciences and are selected according to the following criteria:
- The author stands within the Ashʿarī or Māturīdī creedal tradition, or within one of the four established legal schools
- The work has been transmitted and recognised by traditional Sunni scholars across generations
- The content is consistent with the consensus of Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jamāʿah
Our Sources
IKF draws from the classical corpus of Sunni scholarship across all disciplines of the Islamic sciences. This includes systematic works of theology, legal texts of the four established madhhabs, the authenticated collections of Ḥadīth and their commentaries, the classical sciences of the Qurʾān, works on the purification of the soul, the biographical literature on the Prophet ﷺ and the history of Islām, the devotional and poetic tradition of Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jamāʿah, and the foundational disciplines that underpin all of these sciences.
Sources are selected for their standing within the transmitted tradition, their grounding in the Ashʿarī or Māturīdī creedal framework, and their acceptance among the scholars of Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jamāʿah.
IKF does not draw from sources that depart from the Ashʿarī and Māturīdī creedal framework, regardless of their popularity or contemporary influence.
