ʿIlm al-Ḥadīth

ʿIlm al-Ḥadīth is the science of the sayings, actions, and approvals of
the Prophet Muḥammad ﷺ and the discipline by which their authenticity is
established and preserved. The scholars of Ḥadīth developed a rigorous
methodology of chain verification and narrator criticism across the early
centuries of Islām, producing a body of authenticated prophetic narrations
that stands as the second foundational source of the Sharīʿah after the
Qurʾān. The articles in this section draw from this authenticated tradition
as transmitted by the scholars of Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jamāʿah.
